Buzzing with Excitement: Pollinator Week in Stouffville
Get ready to celebrate the wonders of our ecosystem because Pollinator Week is happening June 17 through June 23! This annual event, managed by the Pollinator Partnership and supported by Bee City Canada, is all about raising awareness and protecting the pollinators in our community, including bees, butterflies, moths, bats, beetles, and hummingbirds.
The 2024 theme for Pollinator Week is “Vision 2040: Thriving ecosystems, economies, and agriculture.” This year, we are encouraged to imagine a future where our pollinators don't just survive but thrive, contributing to healthy ecosystems and vibrant communities.
We are also celebrating a significant milestone of proudly being designated as the 80th Bee City. Bee City Canada is a leading advocacy group dedicated to promoting pollinator health and biodiversity conservation. Their mission is to create sustainable habitats for pollinators and raise awareness of their vital role in our ecosystem. As a Bee City, Stouffville’s duty is to champion pollinator protection, and what better time to do so than Pollinator Week?
Let’s get buzzing and celebrate Pollinator Week!
