Stouffville Announces The Second Annual Holiday Market
The Town of Stouffville is excited to announce the return of the Holiday Market, which will take place on Main Street, 19 on the Park and Memorial Park for its second year running. The event will feature a local artisan vendor marketplace, magical lighting displays, food and beverage, horse drawn carriage rides, Santa Claus and other holiday characters and more. Live musical entertainment will happen throughout the weekend.
The Holiday Market will run for three days—from Friday, November 25 through Sunday, November 27. Hours are as follows:
- Friday, November 25th: 6-10 p.m.
- Saturday, November 26th: 2-10 p.m.
- Sunday, November 27th: 12-4 p.m.
The annual tree lighting ceremony will take place on Friday at 6:30 p.m. on Main Street in front of the clock tower at 19 on the Park. On Friday evening, Main Street will feature activations with live ice carving demos and roaming holiday entertainers including a sing-along on Main Street with Frozen’s Elsa and Anna.
This year features an exciting artist line-up in Memorial Park at the Bandshell. On Friday November 25, we welcome Don Amero to the stage at 7:30 p.m. followed by our headliner JUNO award winning trio the Good Lovelies at 8:30 p.m.
Friday’s headliner the Good Lovelies has four widely acclaimed studio albums, two Christmas collections, two EPs, a live album and a #1 single. Don Amero is an engaging storyteller, singer-songwriter and performer, and three-time JUNO Award nominee.
On Saturday, November 26, Preston Pablo will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. and Shawn Hook will close off the night starting at 8:30 p.m. Shawn Hook’s JUNO Award Nominee’s accolades include the Allan Slaight Music Impact Honour Award and multiple double-platinum singles such as, “Sound of Your Heart” and “Reminding Me” featuring Vanessa Hudgens. Preston Pablo channels a fresh perspective on R&B and Pop through live instrumentation and eloquent songwriting. After racking up nearly 20 million streams independently, he draws a big sound out of small-town roots on singles such as “Don’t break (my soul)” and “Flowers need rain.”
There will be up to 30 more vendors located inside at 19 on the Park with Latcham Art Centre’s Beyond Craft sale. The Beyond Craft show and sale runs from Thursday, November 24 to Sunday, November 27.
“The Stouffville Holiday Market is a new tradition that I’m proud to see become a hallmark event in our community. This event provides an incredible opportunity to showcase Stouffville as a destination for family fun and seasonal charm giving both residents and visitors alike the chance to feel the magic of the holidays like never before,” says Mayor Iain Lovatt. “The Holiday Market has a little something for everyone and I look forward to kicking off the holiday season while shopping, dining and taking in all the sights and sounds that the weekend has to offer.”
The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville received a $900,000 non-repayable contribution from the Government of Canada’s Tourism Relief Fund, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). Approximately $27,000 of the funding was allocated to the Holiday Market.
This year’s Holiday Market has been generously sponsored by StateView Homes as our Presenting Sponsor and telMAX as our Diamond Sponsor and Holiday Tree sponsor.
