Stouffville Recreation Creates New Parasport Sampling Event, With Support Of Parasport Ontario & Jumpstart
The Town of Stouffville is excited to introduce a unique event this holiday season: ParaSport Sampler – Have-a-Go Day! With support from ParaSport Ontario, Stouffville welcomes two National-level athletes to support learning and engagement in various parasport opportunities throughout the day.
On Saturday, January 7, families and children 6+ are invited to join us at the Leisure Centre Gymnasium (2 Park Drive) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to experience and engage in a variety of parasports.
The Town’s Recreation Department created this event to continue to prioritize our commitment to ensuring our programs are inclusive and fun for the entire community. There are a number of activities that can be experienced during the event, including wheelchair basketball, para (sledge) hockey, sitting volleyball, wheelchair handball and more!
Team Canada and Team Ontario athlete, Nasif Chowdhury and Team Canada athlete, Garrett Riley will be joining us to engage participants, teach basic skills and offer tips on how to play some of the most popular parasports.
