Town and Strawberry Festival Announce New Partnership to Enhance Iconic Community Event

The Town of Stouffville and the Strawberry Festival Board of Directors are proud to announce an expanded partnership to strengthen and grow the treasured Whitchurch-Stouffville Strawberry Festival, a hallmark event that has been bringing the community together for over 40 years.

This collaboration marks a new chapter in the festival’s history and is designed to address challenges in volunteer recruitment and enhance the operational capacity of this cherished tradition. The partnership will combine the resources and expertise of the Town of Stouffville with the passion and dedication of the festival’s Board of Directors, ensuring the event continues to thrive for future generations.

Key elements of the partnership include:
• Town of Stouffville Leadership: The Town will manage critical operational aspects of the festival, including entertainment, sponsorships, marketing, vendor coordination, and technical production.
• Board of Directors’ Legacy Oversight: The Board will continue to oversee cherished legacy events such as the Pancake Breakfast, the Citizen and Sports Person of the Year awards, and the Sandra Stronach Red Berry Café, preserving the festival's community-driven spirit.

“Our shared responsibility model ensures that the Strawberry Festival will not only maintain its unique charm but also benefit from the resources and capabilities of the Town,” said Rob Braid, Commissioner of Community Services for the Town of Stouffville. “This partnership is a testament to our commitment to preserving and enhancing this treasured community tradition.”

Through this new partnership, vendors and sponsors can look forward to opportunities for engagement, visibility, and collaboration as planning for the 2025 event gets underway.
“As we embark on this exciting new chapter, we are confident that this partnership will secure the festival’s legacy as a cornerstone of Stouffville’s summer events,” said Cornelia Hunter-Burns, President of the Strawberry Festival Board of Directors.
