With a distinguished career spanning 24 years in fire and emergency services, Doyle, coming from Vaughan Fire and Rescue Services, brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and knowledge to his new role. Beginning his career as a front-line firefighter, he has served in progressive roles, including Captain, District Chief, Assistant Deputy Chief, and most recently, Deputy Fire Chief. Doyle has also acted as Fire Chief, demonstrating his ability to lead effectively during critical times.

"Mike Doyle's unparalleled expertise, strong leadership, and commitment to service make him an outstanding addition to our Fire and Emergency Services team," said Mayor Iain Lovatt. "His extensive experience and proven track record align perfectly with our vision for Stouffville’s future."

Doyle’s qualifications include a Fire and Emergency Services Diploma from Humber College, advanced coursework in labour relations, and ongoing studies in Public Administration and Governance at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson). He is also a Certified Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC). His leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic as Chair of a city-wide Operational Task Force highlights his ability to manage complex challenges with resilience and foresight.

Fire Chief Bill Snowball shared his enthusiasm "We are excited to welcome Mike Doyle to our team. His leadership, dedication and fire-ground experience will undoubtedly strengthen our Fire and Emergency Services department and enhance its ability to serve our community."

The hiring of Mike Doyle follows the resignation of Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Bignell in November. Alongside fellow Deputy Fire Chief Trevor Wawryk, Doyle’s leadership will help drive the department forward and prepare it for the future.

Doyle will officially assume his new role on January 31st, 2025.
