The Town of Stouffville is committed to fostering public participation and openness in our decision-making processes. As part of this commitment, our Accountability and Transparency Policy contains guidelines to ensure the Town's governance, operations and activities are accountable and transparent.
We have appointed an Integrity Commissioner to ensure that members of Council and local boards and committees are adhering to the Council Code of Conduct.
View our Code of Conduct to learn about the rules regulating the conduct of council members. If you believe a member of Council has violated the Code of Conduct, you can refer to the Complaint Protocol for Council Code of Conduct.
Council expenses support elected officials in fulfilling their statutory duties. Learn about the constituency budget, members' accountability, and review quarterly expense reports.
View our Declarations of Interest Registry to find instances of potential conflicts of interest that members of Council have documented.
Our Procedural By-law ensures that Council meetings are held in an open and accessible way that allows members of the public to participate in the local decision-making process.
Find out why we occasionally hold closed meetings and learn how to submit a complaint if you think that a closed meeting has violated the rules outlined in the Municipal Act or the Town’s Procedural By-law.
For complaints unrelated to breaches of the Council Code of Conduct or closed meetings please contact us.
