Additional Residential Units (ARUs)>
Stouffville is working to offer ready-to-use design plans for detached additional residential units (ARUs) to help increase local housing supply, encourage gentle infill, and simplify the approval process. These pre-approved plans will make it easier for residents to add detached ARUs to their properties.

To help increase affordable housing in the Stouffville, the Town has created an Affordable Housing Community Improvement Plan (CIP)
This long-term strategy, supported by the Planning Act, outlines the tools and incentives the Town can use to encourage investment in affordable housing. The CIP will support private and non-profit developers and landowners to increase the range of housing options and affordability to meet different needs across all incomes, ages, and abilities.
These reports provide detailed summaries of quarterly planning activity in the Town.
