GARBAGE, RECYCLING & COMPOSTING

Battery Recycling

The Town of Stouffville does not accept batteries with regular curbside waste collection. Batteries are a type of hazardous waste and need to be dropped off for recycling at one of our facilities.

Improper disposal of a lithium-ion battery could harm a waste collector. It is imperative that lithium-ion batteries be dropped off at a local depot or at one of our facilities.

Smart outdoor battery collection has arrived in Stouffville! A state-of-the-art outdoor battery recycling container is now available 24/7 outside Town Hall at 111 Sandiford Drive, thanks to a partnership with Environmental 360 Solutions Ltd. Equipped with SMART sensors and a fire suppression system, it’s designed to keep battery recycling safe and convenient for our community.
