Street Sweeping Season is Underway in Stouffville

The Town has officially launched its annual Street Sweeping Program to clear sand, leaves and debris from local roads, improving cleanliness and safety. Residents are asked to help by spreading yard waste evenly along curbs (not in piles), minimizing on-street parking, keeping waste bins off the road and following local by-laws related to sports equipment. Together, we can help keep Stouffville clean and safe this spring.

Significant Weather Event Declared – Freezing Rain Warning

The Town of Stouffville has declared a Significant Weather Event, effective 4:00 p.m. on March 28, 2025, due to a Freezing Rain Warning issued by Environment Canada, with up to 10mm of ice accumulation expected. Roadways, sidewalks, multi-use paths, bicycle lanes, and laneways may become icy and slippery, and clearing efforts may take longer than usual—please use caution.

Town Of Stouffville Launches Automated Speed Enforcement Program To Enhance Road Safety

Stouffville has launched its Community Safety Camera Program, using Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) to improve road safety in school and community safety zones. The program, active as of March 17, 2025, issues tickets through the Administrative Monetary Penalty System (AMPS) without demerit points or insurance impacts, and revenue will support local safety initiatives.

York University and Stouffville to strategically collaborate on shared goals

Today, York University and the Town of Stouffville are formalizing years of collaboration and shared interests in building strong, healthy and vibrant communities by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU). The five-year MOU outlines areas where Stouffville and York can work together to benefit the community, as well as the university, its faculty and students through cooperation in various research, initiatives and projects which align with mutual goals.
