Fraud Notice - Procurement Impersonation Scam

The Town of Stouffville has been made aware of individuals contacting businesses regarding WS-RFP-26-068 – Fireworks Displays (2027–2028) and claiming to represent, or act on behalf of, the Town as part of the procurement process.

Please be advised:

  • The Town has not authorized any third party to contact businesses on its behalf regarding this Request for Proposal (RFP).
  • Businesses should not provide information in response to these communications.
  • All official communications related to WS-RFP-26-068 will be issued directly by the Town through its Bids & Tenders e-bidding platform or by the Procurement representative identified in the bid documents.
  • Interested businesses should access and download the official bid documents through Bids & Tenders and follow the instructions outlined in the solicitation package to submit a bid.

Businesses should exercise caution when responding to unsolicited communications regarding Town procurements. If you are unsure whether a message is legitimate, verify the source through the Town's official procurement channels before providing any information. Do not rely on contact details included in the communication itself.
