The Town is initiating a Zoning By-law Amendment to create a new employment zone and rezone lands located in the Vandorf Hamlet to enable future development and permit a range of industrial uses.

What are the Proposed Changes?

  • To add a new zone category, Employment Vandorf (EV) to Section 7 of the Zoning By-law
  • To add new zone regulations for the EV Zone to Section 7 of the Zoning By-law.
  • To rezone the lands presently zoned Development Reserve (D) at 2154 Aurora Road, 15374 Woodbine Avenue, 15518 Woodbine Avenue, and 15640 Woodbine Avenue to Employment Vandorf (EV).

A Public Meeting is your opportunity to voice your comments, concerns, support or opposition to Town Staff, Members of Council, and the Applicant.

Any person may attend the Public Meeting in person or electronically and make written and/or verbal representation either in support of or against the proposed Zoning by-law Amendment application. Please contact the Town Clerk at clerks@townofws.ca for more information or to register to speak electronically before noon of the day prior to the Public Meeting.

Public Meetings will be recorded and made available online.

Appeal Procedure:

If a person or public body would otherwise have the ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville but does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, if one is held, or make written submissions to the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville in respect of the proposed zoning by-law amendment before the approval authority gives or refuses to give approval to the zoning by-law amendment, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision to the Ontario Land Tribunal.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting, if one is held, or make written submissions to the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville in respect of the proposed zoning by-law amendment before the approval authority gives or refuses to give approval to the proposed zoning by-law amendment, the person or public body may not

be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
