Town of Stouffville Warns Vendors About Event-Related Scam

The Town of Stouffville is advising vendors to be aware of a fraudulent scam targeting community events, festivals, holiday markets, and vendor opportunities across Ontario and North America.

The scam involves unofficial emails and vendor invitations that appear legitimate and may use event names, dates, locations, logos, and branding to solicit vendor applications and payments. These communications are not affiliated with the Town of Stouffville.

The Town has recently become aware of fraudulent messages claiming to represent Town events and encouraging vendors to apply and submit payment through unofficial channels.

To help protect themselves, vendors are reminded that applications for Town-operated events will only be available through official Town of Stouffville webpages and communications. Vendors should exercise caution when receiving unsolicited emails regarding event participation and should verify any requests for payment before proceeding.
