Town Of Stouffville Welcomes Jeff Bignell As New Deputy Fire Chief
The Town of Stouffville is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeff Bignell as Deputy Fire Chief of Support for Stouffville Fire & Emergency Services.
Bignell returns to the Town after previously serving in the role until November 2024, when he accepted a Deputy Fire Chief position with the City of Kawartha Lakes. During his previous tenure in Stouffville, Bignell demonstrated strong leadership, a commitment to public safety and a deep understanding of the department’s operations and culture.
“We are very pleased to welcome Jeff back to Stouffville,” said Mayor Iain Lovatt. “His proven leadership, extensive knowledge of the department and strong commitment to our community make him exceptionally well suited to help guide the continued growth of our emergency and fire services.”
During his time with the City of Kawartha Lakes, Bignell gained valuable experience in another municipal fire service and further developed his leadership skills. He returns with established relationships across the organization and a strong understanding of the department’s strategic priorities and future needs.
“Jeff is a respected and collaborative leader who brings valuable experience, continuity and stability to our department,” said Fire Chief Mike Doyle. “His familiarity with our members, operations and community will allow him to quickly re-engage and make an immediate contribution. I am excited to welcome him back to the team.”
Bignell’s experience and proven record will support the department as it advances key initiatives, strengthens service delivery and prepares to meet the community’s evolving needs.
Bignell will officially assume his role as Deputy Fire Chief of Support on September 14, 2026.
