Rules of play

Our fun, recreational games are played using the buckets system. Upon entry, place your paddle in either the intermediate or beginner bucket. You will be allowed on the courts at the start time of the drop-In activity, as per the schedule. Monitors will assign the courts based on paddle order in the buckets. Each game will be played to a winning score of 11. When your game is finished, place your paddle in the appropriately labelled bucket (winner/loser and intermediate/beginner) and the monitor will assign the next group their court. You cannot reorganize the paddle order in the buckets.

Further details are posted inside the gymnasium.

Staff reserve the right to remove participants who behave in a disrespectful manner or do not abide by the rules.

Effective April 1st 2023, there will now be a $10 including hst non-resident fee for Pickleball drop-ins. Pickleball drop-ins will now require ALL attendees to provide identification with their address every time you purchase your wristband.  If you do not provide identification, you will be charged the non-resident rate.

Concussion awareness

The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville offers league play for adults in a non-contact setting, but incidental contact during the course of play may occur on occasion. It’s important league players understand and recognize the risks associated with the sports offered at the Town and injury may occur. When it comes to preventing and recognizing concussion symptoms, the Town is taking a proactive approach to make our participants aware of the potential impacts.

Concussions are brain injuries caused by the brain moving inside of the skull. The movement causes damage that changes how brain cells function, leading to symptoms that can be physical (headaches, dizziness), cognitive (problems remembering or concentrating), or emotional (feeling depressed). A concussion can result from any impact to the head, face or neck or a blow to the body which causes a sudden jolting of the head.
