The Whitchurch-Stouffville Youth Advisory Working Group (YAWG) is the official voice of youth in our community. A unique opportunity to collaborate with Town staff to shape recreational and social initiatives that matter most to our youth. As a member of YAWG, you'll be at the forefront, advocating for new ideas and ensuring that the youth perspective is heard in Town projects and strategies.

The Youth Advisory Working Group (YAWG), in collaboration with SUSO Skate Co., is launching free community roller skating events at the Memorial Park Multi-Purpose Trail.
Friday, October 16

Youth Trivia Night is a free drop-in event open to youth and offers a fun space to test your knowledge with friends. Bring your own team or join one once you arrive.
Saturday, November 14

Youth Line Dancing Social is a free drop-in event for youth in grades 7–12. No experience needed, just bring your energy!
Wednesday, December 16

Youth Karaoke Night is a free drop-in event open to youth in grades 7–12 and offers a fun, supportive space to sing your heart out!
Advocacy: Represent and advocate for youth interests in community programs and strategic plans.
Leadership: Gain leadership experience and contribute to planning events like Youth Week and the Santa Claus Parade.
Engagement: Actively gather input from peers on important youth matters and present these ideas to Town Council.
Eligibility: Open to residents of Whitchurch-Stouffville in Grades 7-12.
Commitment: Serve a minimum term of one school year (September to June), with opportunities for reappointment.
Involvement: Attend monthly meetings, contribute to projects, and take on leadership roles.
YAWG meets monthly to set priorities, discuss youth-related issues, and plan events. Members are expected to actively participate, attend meetings, and contribute to the group's initiatives.
The Community Services Commission oversees YAWG, ensuring the group stays focused and on track. Town staff provide support and guidance, helping members succeed in their roles.
Be part of a dynamic group of 12 young leaders working to enhance the image and influence of youth in Stouffville. Your ideas and energy can make a real impact in our community.
Applications for the 2026-2027 Youth Advisory Working Group will open in September 2026.
